Amedee Island

Surrounded by crystal clear waters, pure white sandy beaches and a coral garden alive with fish, Amedee Lighthouse Islet is paradise.

Only 40 minutes aboard one of Mary D's luxury vessels and you are welcomed into a South Pacific atmosphere of swaying palm trees, white sandy beaches and happy, smiling people.

Take in a little afternoon sunshine. Send a postcard home by the Phare Amedee Post Office, the world's smallest Post Office with its special and official postmark stamp. Or perhaps shopping is more your pleasure, and with our island boutique you can be sure to find a wonderful selection of souvenirs to choose from including T-shirts, caps, pareos, key rings and much more. And for those who forgot the necessities, there are also sunglasses, suntan lotion, cameras and film available.

Amedee Lighthouse and its surrounding waters have a fascinating variety of flora and fauna. The abundance of marine life is due to the South Province designating Amedee Island as a special marine sanctuary with an importance placed upon managing the preservation and growth of marine plants and animals. This is in part accomplished by the prohibition of fishing, collecting or disturbing the creatures or their environment. This marine park offers you the opportunity to be amazed by the abundance and variety of the fascinating marine life.
